Spain accounting integrations

Holded and Odoo are popular cloud accounting choices in Spain, while Sage, including Contaplus/Sage 50, remains the long-established incumbent across SMB and mid-market. Local tools like a3innuva and Contasol are common among gestorías, and compliance is shaped by SII real-time VAT reporting, the Veri*Factu certified-billing system and an upcoming B2B e-invoicing mandate.

Spain accounting compliance requirements

Spain is layering three overlapping digital tax regimes: SII real-time VAT reporting for large taxpayers, the new Veri*Factu certified-billing-software system rolling out through 2027 for everyone else, and a separate B2B e-invoicing mandate under the Crea y Crece law that applies from 6 October 2027 for large companies and 6 October 2028 for everyone else.

Veri*Factu (Sistemas Informáticos de Facturación)

Businesses and self-employed professionals not already under SII must use certified billing software that generates tamper-evident invoice records with QR codes and reports them to the tax agency, mandatory from 1 January 2027 for corporate income tax filers and 1 July 2027 for all other taxpayers, including sole traders.

Agencia Tributaria (AEAT)

Veri*Factu postponement (announced)

On 5 October 2026 the Ministry of Finance announced that the pending Veri*Factu obligations will move to October 2028, to coincide with B2B e-invoicing for businesses with turnover up to 8 million euro. The change is not yet published in the BOE, so the 2027 dates above remain the legal position until it is.

Ministerio de Hacienda

SII (Suministro Inmediato de Información)

Large companies and VAT-group members must submit VAT invoice records to the tax agency within four days of issuance and are exempt from Veri*Factu as a result.

Agencia Tributaria (AEAT)

B2B e-invoicing mandate (Ley Crea y Crece, Royal Decree 238/2026)

Domestic B2B transactions between Spanish-established businesses must use electronic invoicing. The ministerial order that starts the clock (Orden HAC/1028/2026) was published on 5 October 2026 and took effect on 6 October 2026, so companies with turnover above 8 million euro must comply from 6 October 2027 and all other businesses and professionals from 6 October 2028.
